Diwali Dinner and Dance in aid of the Mayor's special appeal
KPS Diwali celebrations started with a Diwali Dinner and Dance party on 22 October 2011. The party started at 7.00pm with a cocktail reception in the Annex Hall where waitresses served champagne, soft drinks and canape. Hot and delicious Dal Bhajias, Spring Rolls, Samoas and Mogo chips were served while people had opportunity to mingle between themselves.
 
The Mayor of Harrow, Mrinal Choudhury and Mayoress, Rama Choudhury arrived at 8.00pm. After a welcome presentation Nikita Patel performed a mix of Bollywood dances.  A cheque of £1111 was presented to the Mayor for his Special Appeal at the presentation ceremony. The Mayor thanked the Samaj for organsing a Diwali Dinner and Dance and making a generous donation in aid of his Special Appeal. He said that the donation will go to local charities Harrow Association for Disabled people (HAD) and Harrow Mencap. He and Mayoress went around the main hall to meet people attending the fucntion.
 
After the dinner was served the attendees filled up the dance floor and danced through out the evening and had an enjoyable time. At 11.30pm a raffle draw took place and three lucky wiinners won fantastic prizes including first prize of LED televison.
 
Our thanks go to all volunteers who helped out with organisining the Diwali Dinner and Dance party.
